IOT helps you connected to your valuables 24/7. GPS helps you track your invaluables at any point of time. In this scenario, it is not possible to steal your invaluables when you are continuously monitoring and tracking them. Does this mean that in future, stealing percentage will come down? May be not! Why because, the current IOT technology is laden with so many loopholes which hackers can easily tweak and twist them to further their cause.
Remember the recent hacking done by Charlie Miller, a security engineer at Twitter, and Chris Valasek, a researcher! They were able to remotely control a jeep firstly increasing the volume on the radio and then causing the vehicle to brake, turn the wheel and turn off the engine, all from their computer. Don’t panic! They did this to show the gaps in IOT connections.
However, if this is real, then stealing your invaluable in future though it is connected to Net using IOT is also possible! And if all this is possible, then conducting orchestrated organized attacks by terrorist organizations are also possible. Now, the question is where IOT is taking us? Is it providing us safety cover or under the disguise of providing safety cover, is it making us sitting ducks?
The answer for the above question lies in implementing impregnable IOT technology, which is not readily available today.
