Writer’s Contribution to this Planet

A writer’s pen name [nom de plume] is a reflection of his character and mindset. While a few writers opt for opposite sex names, some go with things names that brought them luck, and rest go with peculiar phrases  for easy popularity and recognition.

A writer always has to outwit his reader. Predictability in his writings sounds anathema to a writer’s popularity. Having a particular bent of mind and using a few regular words to describe all varieties of situations, do not take a writer to places in today’s world. Using trendy words, infusing fire in your reader’s thoughts, bringing inspiration to your reader’s soul, etc, are expected from a writer nowadays.

Bringing completeness to inchoate ideas is an art which every writer has to learn. An accomplished writer brings his best even while describing a fogey, mawkish, and languid person and projects him as a hero, which his reader wants to willingly identify himself with. That sort of talent cannot come to a person who does not sense what is happening around him and what his readers are hungry for. If you prefer to sit in a corner and write, then you are not writing for your audience but for yourself. It is like sitting in a landlocked place and dreaming about the sunset on a sea shore.

A maudlin attitude writer cannot shine in the market. Financially, most of the writers are not up to the mark because they are incredibly underpaid. Every now and then, we hear about a writer who got fame and money after he died long time ago. While he was living and writing all that stuff, he was facing lot of problems and suffering. May be that suffering has pushed him to write that excellent stuff, which took time for people to realize and start valuing his writings at premium level only after his death. However, there are other writers who initially got fame and money, reached their zenith at a very young age, but crashed down within no time for various reasons. Vices, how small they are, lead to one’s own nemesis.

Irrespective of any language, all the writers across the world share one common thing: capturing their incredible imagination in words. This world survives and advances based on its ability to pass on the existing knowledge to its next generation. And writer’s contribution for this knowledge transfer, since human’s day one on this planet, is very critical.

Mind it!
