How to Control Rudeness in Society?

Rudeness or incivility is not entertained in civilized societies. Being rude to anyone is considered as bad manners. However, we have people staying with us who act rude to get their things done day-in and -out. Is rudeness a weapon or an uncontrollable attitude which people develop since their childhood?  If this is a behavioral problem, what plans do teachers have to nip this disgusting behavior in the bud? How parents deal with this behavior of their kids and try to avoid it in the initial stage itself?

A person is given respect in this society based on his dress, manners, and culture. If the guy is not up to the mark in not even in a single parameter, his social status goes down. And for so many people in this society, social status is important. Kings in olden days used to have people who are paid to praise the king whenever he wants. And what they praise? The answer is that king’s previous valorous deeds, mind-blowing donations, his way of bringing down his enemies, etc. Nevertheless, if the same person who has been praising the king utters even one negative statement about the same king due to slip of tongue or whatever, he was used to be given severe punishment for his rudeness; most of the cases, it is severing of head.

We maintain double standards when it comes to rudeness. Nowadays, in reel world, we see heroes oozing rudeness in all their activities. He utters uncivilized rude dialogs every now and then and the world claps as if he revealed some hidden truth that has the potential to save this world from falling into utter chaos. The same statement, if a person in the real world makes, then utter chaos happens not only around that person but also regarding the statement he made. This hypocrisy has to stop. Actually, by entertaining this hypocrisy, we are not sending a right message to the future generations.

In summary, everyone should realize that rudeness is bad and entertaining it pushes us back to Stone Age. We all should promise to ourselves to condemn rudeness in any form whenever we encounter it.

Good luck!
